The geomagnetic disturbance level is a quantity that describes geomagnetic activity, which includes information about the phenomena that occur in the magnetosphere. Geomagnetic disturbance is obtained from measurements of daily geomagnetic variations that is free from quiet day variation. Daily geomagnetic variation data used in this investigation come from magnetometer measurements by Indonesian National Institute of Aeronautic and Space (LAPAN) in collaboration with Kyushu University and Agency of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) at geomagnetic observatories in Kototabang, Pontianak, Parepare, Manado, and Kupang. The characteristics of geomagnetic disturbance in Indonesia region and the level of the disturbance are calculated by using a method known as principal component analysis (PCA). The results show the almost similar results in the disturbance of the geomagnetic of the five observatories. It also shows a strong correlation among them. In the other side, the geomagnetic disturbance from Manado observatory is the most dominant which is indicated by the highest eigenvalue 2.81.
