Sea surface temperature has an important role in the interaction between the atmosphere and the ocean. The important role relates to energy exchange between the atmosphere and ocean. Sea surface temperature changes will affect the atmospheric conditions on it. This research was conducted to understand the distribution of sea surface temperature in the
Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean based numerical model. The method used in this research was three-dimensional modeling using the CSIRO Mk3L Climate System Model V1.2. This model was consist of atmospheric general circulation model that has zonal and meridional resolution 5.625O x 3.18O with 18 vertical levels and ocean general circulation model has zonal and meridional resolution 2.8125O x1.59O with 21 vertical levels. Simulation done for 10 years from 1990-1999. Simulation results show that the sea surface temperature in the Indian Ocean north of the equator and west Pacific Ocean reaches maximum during the east season and minimum during the the first transition and west season. In general, the sea surface temperature of the western Pacific Ocean is warmer than the waters of the Indian Ocean.
