Abstract .
A fuelbinder of a solid rocket propellant consists ofa polymer organic compound which is the result of the reaction between polyol and isocyanate (HTPB and TD1), where each of these materials have several isomers. To improve the quality of the resulting propellant, conducted an analysis of the isomers polyol (HTPB), namely 1,4-cis, 1,4-trans and 1,2-vinyl and TDI as hardenner ie isomers 2,4-TDI and 2,6 TDI. The content of this isomer affects the mechanical and physical properties of fuelbinder, automatically will affect the resulting propellant. For that reasons, it has been carried out an analysis of the content of each isomer qualitatively by spectrophotometric method with infrared (PTIR). HTPB were analyzed are a local HTPB that independently produced and imported HTPB. While TDI analyzed consists of two models, TDI proanalisis who have stored for long period and new TDL The expected result are, for HTPB, 40% of 1,4-cis isomer, 30% of 1,4-trans and 30% of 1,2-vinyl, and for TDI are, 80% of 2,4-TDI and 20% of 2,6-TDI. The results showed that, HTPBtokai and HTPB imports have varied isomer content. For local HTPB, produced two groups: 1). Isomer is incomplete does not have a 1,4-cis isomers, only the isomer of 1,2-vinyl and 1,4-trans; 2). has a 1,4-cis isomer, 1,4-trans and 1,2-vinyl complete with a number of different content. This study shows that the content of isomers obtained is also influenced by storage time, temperature and method. This is indicated by the results of sample analysis of TDI proanalisis that stored for long period, where the 2,4-TDI isomer content is lost in the presence of trimerization and climerization reaction.
