In addition to El-Nino phenomenon, IOD (+) (The Positive Indian Ocean Dipole) and the North Australian Monsoon, the TBO (Tropospheric Biennial Oscillation) is also a natural phenomenon cause drought in Indonesia Maritime Continent (IMC). TBO is a form of inter-annual variations in climatic elements (rainfall, convection, wind, temperature etc.) in the troposphere (from surface to tropopause) with a period of about 2-3 years due to the interaction between the ocean-land-atmosphere in the Asia monsoon, Australia monsoon, Tropical Indian and Pacific Ocean (West, Central and Eastern). TBO phenomenon has unique properties, namely raise the intensity of rainfall in one summer, and lower the intensity of rainfall in the next summer in a single cycle. TBO exploration as one of the important factors causing drought in Indonesia is discussed in this paper. The purpose of this research is to understand the characteristics of rainfall in the Indonesian Maritime Continent. Who's the target of this research is known as one of TBO natural factors causing drought in Indonesia. The research method applied in this research include the search (trace) on the pattern of sea surface temperature and rainfall in selected regions, statistical correlation between these data and the analysis of periodicities. The results showed that a decline in rainfall intensity is large nough in the summer of the second cycle in Jakarta TBO of 270 mm (JJA: June, July, August 1997) and in Denpasar, Bali by 484 mm (JJA 1982) ( as the sample selected in this study).
